Mountain View School Division would like to honour and acknowledge June 21st as National Indigenous Peoples Day. Today is a great day to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis People within our communities. Earlier this year, Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning released Mamàhtawisiwin: The Wonder We Are Born With – An Indigenous Education Policy Framework. EXTENDED DEADLINE to June 10, 2022! The Provincial Task Force on Poverty and Education is inviting Manitoba youth, ages 14 to 21 to share their lived experiences, perspectives, and ideas to help eliminate the impacts of poverty on students. Wayne Ewasko, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Learning, has proclaimed the month of May, 2022 as "Music Month" in recognition of the important contributions of musicians, music educators and music education programs in our schools and communities. The Mountain View School Division Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Jaddock to the position of Superintendent/CEO of Mountain View School Division effective July 1, 2022. Click on the above link for details!

Assiniboine Community College and Mountain View School Division will host the 10th annual Graduation Powwow virtually this year and would like to honour ALL graduates within our school communities in a video production. Please click on the link for more info, including instructions on how graduates may submit their name and grad photo for the video!

Recently, the Terry Fox Foundation sent our Division a letter of gratitude for raising just over $2,000 for the 2021 Terry Fox School Run. MVSD is proud of our school communities in their efforts to support cancer research!

As our communities and school division emerge from the challenges of COVID-19, MVSD is looking forward to planning for the 2022-2023 school year. We ask parents/guardians and community members to help us in our planning by completing our survey by Friday, May 6, 2022 at 4:00 PM. A separate survey will be available for students and staff.
